A centerpiece for my Altar

A centerpiece for my Altar

Today, I wanted to share with you a recent project that's been filling my creative soul with joy. I've been working on painting a wooden niche, and I must say, it's been quite the adventure!

Let's begin! You'll need acrylic paint, wood glue (or any adhesive)
Arch Nicho

I started with the idea of giving a few saints a special place to stand. So, I designed a nicho with an arched top and cut-out windows, inspired by the graceful curves of arches. I wanted a simple shape that would also pay homage to the beauty of architectural arches.

From a sketch to the laser printer! I love how it came out.

This particular niche was crafted for Saint Jude, and I drew my color palette from his garments. Green became the main color, symbolizing growth and renewal. Using white, I painted delicate leafy vines and flowers, adding a touch of purity and grace.

Keeping the design simple was intentional. I wanted the statues to shine, their presence enhanced by the niche rather than overshadowed by intricate details.

As I worked on this project, I found myself immersed in a world of creativity and self-expression. It reminded me of the power we all have to create something beautiful and meaningful.

So, I invite you to pick up a blank niche and let your imagination run wild. Create a niche to showcase whatever inspires you—whether it's a beloved saint, a cherished memory, or simply an expression of your unique self. Let your creativity be your guide, and let your niche be a reflection of your inner beauty.

Hope you are having a wonderfyl day.

Inspire on,
Lupe Flores
